You need to get RCL meter to be sure. Ordinary Ohm multimeters are crap worth.
I have a fluke multi,,,which is top of the line 250.00 do u think that will be off or do u mean a cheap multi is worthless and only an rcl is accurate enough???

I thought 1.3 - 1.5Ω was about right for COPs, with the OEM coils being around 3Ω?
If you're worried about the low impedance, you could always wire resistors in series like people with Dyna 3000s need to in order to keep them from frying.
There's a thread somewhere listing the right kind and source for them I believe - sorry to sleepy on Sunday morning to search for it myself <yawn!>

I know Fluke, its a good brand.
My APPA 305 multimeter reads my densos about ~1,4-,5 and my RCL reads them with ~1,75-,8 so theres "something" there my friend...more less.
I bealive I was the guy who checked that, finished what Fargo started.
