Hi guys

I've been peeking on this forum for quite a bit but never posted. Don't ask me why but now its time... My name is Fred and im from Portugal. Im the proud owner of two Gen 1 vmaxs. A '90 and a '98... Grizzly and Yeti... Vmax was my first bike and it will be the last. Done a couple mods so far but im posting some pics for you to take a look and criticize... At this moment im taking care of trimming and fiber glassing some plastic on the Yeti's rear end and just finished with the clutch clear cover with leds that needs bolting on on these following days. But enough blabbing... Here they go...

wow wow lots of work! you do a lot of fabrication yourself? is that a custom frame? Who did the swingarm/250/300 wheel?

Sweet bikes, a lot of nice creative work you have done on your Vmax's! :punk::punk:
Welcome to Vmax forum! If we can help in any way do not hesitate to ask!

Hi
It was handmade from high grade steel and then wrapped with steel sheet. Its a 300 Avon And the transmission was broken and used a U-joint on the big bulge behind the exhausts. I do small stuff like the clear clutch stuff and plastics molding. Regarding the other mods i need to rely on others due to not having the proper machinery to do so...

Thanks all the others for the interest...

I like the first one but the second one is too "busy" for my tastes. I will however state that the work was very nicely done!

Hi Sean

Those mods weren't made by me. I bought that bike like that but i must tell you. That paint job is the best i've ever seen. I'll try to post some details for you to take a look. Its a frickin' rolling painting... And its about its 10th or so paint job so far. Im not changing it... Its something extraordinary

sweet ..............................:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy:

i love the exhaust on the first one! that thing has to be one loud mother! i want it!
both bikes are pretty sweet, lots of time and money spent there!

These mods have started after i crashed in 2004. Nothing major to the bike actually. Scratched mufflers and rad and the clutch cover and pedals. With the insurance money for the repair i decided to custom fab the parts and add some other goodies with the remaining money... After that i didn't stop but lately it has been set aside and now got back to it on my spare time... Last thing i did was the clear clutch cover (that i still didn't bolt on coz im thinking still of the best place to drill the hole to cross the LED wires and pick up some voltage on the rear brake stop switch) and now im developing my rear seat cowling starting from a 2005 R6 rear... Taking it easy... Thanks for your comments guys... I must say that there are lots of specialists here. I've been reading a lot and getting more interested everytime... I've been reading very carefully the charged Vmaxs topics... But still don't know enough to decide what is the best way... centrifugal or roots. Roots looks nicer coz its inside the faux tank but the centrifugal (like rotrex, vortech or powerdyne) are eye catching and the aspirating sound is awesome... Need to learn a bit more about carb setting and specs in order to really start to think about this...

BTW Can anyone tell me if a 2007/08 R1 fork stanchions (4C8) fit on a 2004/06 R1 front suspension (5VY)? I really need to know that urgent... The width is the same (43mm) but the 4C8 are 540mm long and teh 5VY are 520mm long...
