VMAX purchase price list

O.K. guys, here's the idea:

We create a list, it would have to be a line by line list rather than a thread, of everybody's bikes purchase price and year/ miles/ mods at time of purchase/ condition of bike/ year purchased/ state purchased

This would help new ''owners to be'' to find good, fair priced motorcycles and it would help maintain a healthy future market for the vmax.

U got a deal,mine was $10,800 new in 2002 in SoCal.It now has over 84,000mi.so it can't be worth much,Even though i've kept it like new all these years.But I have no intention of selling it..........EVER!!:eusa_snooty:

2005 #595 with only 1798 miles on it, I got it from Texas in 2010 from the origanal owner and it was in flawless condition, I live in Michigan.

* It had a HMF full exhaust system with carbon fiber cans, jetted and tuned. (full stock exhaust was included)

* Givi wind screen.

* Factory back rest. ( stock grab rail included )

* Price I paid for the bike was $6500.00 the PO included trailering it from Texas to Ohio, I met him in Ohio and switched the Uhaul to my truck and trailered it to Michigan.

2000 Vmax Bought in 2001 in NY for $3000 (Amount my brother still owed on a loan).
Approximately 2000 Miles on it at time of purchase.
Stock with cosmetic Damage and Starter Damaged when my brother laid it down trying to take corner too fast.
Starter was Replaced under Warrenty and I spent $400 -500 replcaing Damaged parts.

1985 Vmax with 29,000 miles for $2,200, came with mini windshield, backrest and luggage rack.

Mostly stock, except paint, 4 into 1 Supertrapp exhaust and K&N air filter. PO thinks it may have a stage 1 kit but I have no way of telling. 2nd gear was starting to slip, now 2nd gear pops out around 3000 rpm...oh well,

Had a new clutch, spark plugs, and Metzler ME880 tires front and back.

Mods I done were forks from a 2005, Superbrace fork brace, Progressive Springs and lowered 1", YZF 6 piston calipers, black clutch and brake levers with leather wraps, Vmax side panels with the black bottom, and a Maxgasser seat being shipped tomorrow.

Oh, it was down in Findlay, about an hour from me, and I went and picked up right after a nice heavy, level 3 snowstorm went through.

1985. Bought new. Stock except for Corbin seat, COPS, New style R/R, and Goldwing battery modification. Looks a bit roadworn (I like to think of it as "patina"!), but still runs well....

$5395.00 purchase price.
122,000 miles later, priceless!
This may be the most "not-for-sale" bike on Earth.
