I saw a similar frame mod on the internet and decided to give it a go. Forgive the crappy welds, I had a buddy clean them up before painting the frame.
I haven't gotten the bike running yet so I can't say if it does anything but it was a pretty easy thing to do if you have that part of the frame exposed and theoretically should stiffen up the rear end from flexing under heavy acceleration.
