crossovers

I've read somewhere that crossovers help to remove the spent mixture in the combustion chamber and also assist in pulling the fresh charge in through a scavenging effect. While looking into aftermarket 4-2 full systems, the only one I see out there with a crossover is Marks Pipes. Does anyone...
