Was talking to a guy today that says the vmax after the 80's were limited on power and have rev limiters in them. Stating that the 85 I believe he claims has the most horsepower in the gen 1's How true is this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I read that up to 2001 all Vmaxes where about 102 HP, and the after that up to the new gen one they were 145 HP! And that all the difference are the carburetors! Is this true? And if it is, can a carburetor from a recent Vmax, say 2006, fit into a 2001 one?

I'm watching a Military Channel show on the Humvee and they claim 190 horsepower from the deisel engine, less than the "heavy" 2009 Vmax! I know the Humvee's probably got a couple dozen times the torque, but that's still an amazing comparison. I'm going to hop on the bike now, can't resist.

Is this a mod worth doing? I have a '99 with Supertrapp exhaust and stay pretty much at sea level. If it is worth doing how much horsepoer can be gained? NOTE - I understand you do NOT want to drill slides, change springs, or change air jets (unless you get a stumble).
