Surprise to me...found this hack job and now the bike won't continue to run in gear. Clearly the switch was removed by the previous owner. The bike is killed in gear when the wires are together or separated. What am I missing here?
Hi everyone! Im new to the fourm, I just bought my first vmax, it is a 1985, that has had alot of work done to her, but my question is does anyone else drag thier kickstand when turning left? And any I deas how to fix it?

the spring is put on while the kickstand is in the up position and a new spring that...
guys more poor baby just hit 10k miles. i went into my garage yesterday and saw oil near the kick stand. i think it is coming from the shifter seal. is that common and how hard is it to replace? any other ideas on where that is coming from would be great.
Thanks,
Sid
if someone has a shortened stock one lying around, I'd like to pick it up. I could shorten the one I have, or buy an extra to shorten, but I'm not in a big hurry at this point. And I think the aftermarket ones look goofy.
Sold 1" shorter chrome kickstand
Sold Nuff said. $25.00 delivered to lower 48. I just love saying that, I mean writing it.:rofl_200:
Worked in Alaska out of High School, back a long time ago. That was the first time I heard the phrase.
Recently, I've had this problem where sometimes after I have a ride and stop the bike then try to restart, it wont turn over. All lights and stuff are on. Now, if I put the kickstand down, sometimes it will start so this make me think its a faulty kickstand kill switch relay.
Do these relays...
Needing some input from some vmaxers who've dealt with this. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, and I'm mechanically inclined, but just not sure where to start. See the pics attached, but I have an oil leak from near where the kickstand is. I've tried cleaning it off multiple times now, to...
So I fixed the kickstand issue, it was in fact the relay and the new (used) one I got from ebay didn't work either so I just unplugged it and it worked.
The new issue is that when I get to the end of a straight line drive and let it drop to idle, it dies. Immediately I thought it had to be...

I ordered and received my Pero Motorsports Vmax adjustable kickstand.
1) Super FAST shipping! Thanks.
2) Instructions that were included seemed to be very thorough. BUT, they were for the wrong bike! I have a 2001 Vmax. Got the correct stand. But as I was reading the instructions, I realized...
What are the available options? I've only found the voodoo kickstand. I've got mine shortened. It's shortened as much as possible without a good bit of work or taking a torch to it. I'm about 2 3/4 lower in the front, and about 2 in the rear. I can't really find any specs on the voodoo stand...
I'm looking at getting a motorcycle again. I've had two V65 Magna's in the past, I still like them, but I kind of want to try something new.
I'm looking at a 1995 VMAX
When you lift the weight off the side kickstand, it automatically pops up into the stored/riding position. I found it very...
I just found out today that if your kickstand is out the engine will die if put in to gear.
I'm sure most of you know this but I didn't and couldn't figure it out until I was going to park it and call the wife for a ride so I could get my trailer.
Anyway, if you didn't know now you do.
Hello fellow maxers,
rookie on board, need a little help. I lowered my bike 2 inches and I'am trying to find someone who sells a shortened kickstand or adjustable kickstand. I was told I could cut down my old one but was warned the metal is not that strong and heating it would weaken it...
