I've done about a third of my required reading for new members, I did have a question, I'm looking for a bike now how do I tell if it's a restricted model or not, is a number on the Vin I should look for or something else

So, what makes this so? Looking at the 1996 models, they came with 140 hp rating. That's a huge, I said huge, difference from the below 100 hp of the 1998 models. Where did they hide it? Airbox? Heads? Exhaust?

Are the differentials from 1985 to 2007 v-max models interchangeable? The reason I ask is that the external castings on the diff housing i.e. the 'pumpkin' changed at about the time the front forks were upgraded. Later housings are more robust (though some have casting floors). So, Can you...

VMX12W1 and VMX12W1C

I was looking on ebay and came across these Vmax models that were i think $25USD . Does anyone have any of these , whats the condition of them like etc and can you get them anywhere else :confused2:

I've been working on the exercise of making my own discs and really preferred a semi-floating setup which is time consuming and involves some expense if I make my own. There are some cheap semi-floating discs sold on ebay that are cheaper than what I could make which will fit later models but...

:ummm: Anyone know if the 09 VMAX wheels will work on the previous models? The rear wheel of the new VMAX is 3.5" wide, so it is the same width as the the custom wheels that fit the older models, just not sure about the driveshaft/hub bolting up.

I am searching to buy a V-Max, and would like to know the differences between V-Max models from year to year after 2002. Any tip to the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks
