I own a 1994 V-Max and my brother owns a 1992 V-Max. Both bikes have slight oily residues on the bottom of the final drive assemblies, which gets ever so lightly spattered onto the rear wheels while riding. It's barely noticeable. The oil levels are correct and I've see no signs of the oil...

This is surely a newbie question but that's okay cause I'm a newbie:biglaugh: Anyway, I for the first time opened up the airbox on a my newly purchased 97 Max and I found that the filter was splashed with a red oily liquid and a puddle of the stuff had formed in the corner of the airbox...

both rear rubber boots where carbs connect to manifold seem to be damp with oil cant see oil anywhere else except for on the clamps holding boots on...just cleaned out the breather catch incase that had anything to do with it....any ideas ...can cracked boot cause this problem...if you want...
