prepping

Hey just need a few tips on preping fender/faux tank/and instrument housing for some black paint.. the paint on mine is silver NOTHING wrong with it I just want it black. Anything I should know except scuffing surface with 800 and cleaning very well with naphtha? We have a paint booth at my work...

Where I live, a tornado blew through a month or two back and a bunch of limbs fell on my car. Scratched it to all hell. Thankfully, it didn't damage the convertible top or any windows. So....the insurance company cuts me a check for WAY LESS than any body shop is quoting me for a full paintjob...
