    Vent tube gushing gas

2007 Vmax turns over just fine but will not start. When turning over, gas flows out of the left side vent tubes. Specifically the left, rear carb. I've read it could be a stuck float. Could it possibly be a no spark issue and therefore the carbs get full and overflow? Any ideas would be...

I was riding my 98 vmax and I parked it to go get some damn coffee cause I was tired and as I’m getting off my max I feel this stinging pain in my forearm and I’m like wtf. I am wearing a leather icon jacket btw. And it keeps getting worse so I pull off the jacket...

    Missing vent hoses?

Okay, So I shotgunned carbs 1 and 2 today. I had to run to the hardware store to grab a screw extractor kit for THREE of the carb screws, and then it started to rain, so I covered her up (I park on the street in Brooklyn, far from ideal shop). Keeping in mind I know very little, here's the...

I checked the hose and the plastic connector in the middle had melted and blocked air flow. So i removed the connector but.am worried gas may...

    Tank vent pipe question

Why does the tank vent pipe have such a tiny restrictor hole on the end? I ask because I sort of filled mine up a bit with Red Kote when I was treating tanks. I guess I let it sit the wrong way a little too long, and the excess didn't drip out of there. I've reamed it out with a violin string...

    Vent Cap Installation

My brother purchased a billet vent cap cover from Python Motorsports for his 2007 Max. In a rush to install the his new cover, he failed to realize that the Python cover fits over the stock vent cap and is held in place with a set screw. In his rush, he removed the stock vent cap and destroyed...

I just fired my vmax up today . I haven't started it in about 2 months it was fine. When I started it today one of the vent tubes that run up under the cowl cover was leaking gas pretting good. carb vent tube routing

Does anyone have a picture that shows vent tube routing from the carbs to the bracket on the side of the airbox where they slip on? Do they go in between the frame and the airbox or do they go on the outside of the frame? I have a 1995 airbox that I am putting on my 1985 vmax. No matter how I...

I need to vent about another forum

Ugh I need to get this off my chest. I'm also on a forum for my car. I have some prior knowledge about cars, but I joined the forum to learn more, especially about fine-tuning things such as suspension, engines, turbos, etc. Long story short, I broke the heater core in my car. I'm leaking...

    Need to vent!

Got a computer virus. Not especially malicious. It would re-direct me to different websites every so often (not the obvious porn ones) - usually about twice a week. I noticed immidiately and ran all of my virus programs. They became disabled. Yes, I could open them, but they could not be...

Airbox inlets, crankcase vent, and oil.

Has anyone tried running with the top of the airbox off? Seems like it would get much better air flow than just the two small inlets built into it. Can you plug the crankcase inlet on the airbox and just put a filter on the end of the hose to vent crankcase the to atmosphere? Will this hurt...

    Float Vent / Overflow

Hello to all, this is my first post on the boards. I have a 1988 VMax project that I bought. When I got it the carbs were in a box with a receipt for $130 to clean them. Along with the carbs removed there were assorted other things taken off the bike (some of which are still not on). I now...

Took the airbox off tonight while changing main jets (sean !), and noticed some yellow-brown liquid from where the crank vent tube attaches to the lower airbox. The double-headed vent tubes going to the velocity stacks were clear of any obstructions Took the inner compartment apart, and this...
