Is anyone running a 180 rear tire on a stock rim? will it fit? I have a notched/braced swingarm so clearance shouldnt be an issue but will the rim hold that wide of a tire?

Thanks

I know that 170/80 R15 will fit on a stock rim with no problems and clear everything just fine, Metzeler ME880 170/80 15 rated 77H, stock replacement is 150/90 15 rated 74v
Here are how close the two sizes are.
-----------------------------stock tire------------170/80 15 replacement--------------different
sidewall height...............5.31.............................5.35-------------------------------- .04
tread width....................5.91..............................6.69---------------------------------.78
Overall height................25.63............................25.71--------------------------------.08
circumference.................80.52............................80.77--------------------------------.25
load rating...................74 or 827 pds..............77 or 908 pds-----------------------81 pds
speed rating...................v= 149mph......................H= 130mph------------------(- 19 mph)
As you can see the sizes are very close.

The load rating also relates to the mass of the tire the higher the load rating the more spinning mass you will have
I am going to be replacing my stock tire with ME880 with size change, it has good reviews and a good tire over all from what I have read and heard.

A lot of us run 170's. 180 bias ply on 15" wheels? I've seen it done with Metzlers on a stock swingarm. It worked ok. I still have the 170 Shinko on and there is room to spare.

They made a 180/70 15 which we tried and though it fit the shape was so distorted it handled like complete ass.

When you are looking at the book it will tell you what the minimum and maximum width of rim you use for a tire. If the tire is too narrow or wide it will have seating problems on the rim and if you do manage to get it on it may not be true. I know there are some non ufo fans here but he claims to make a replace wheel to be able to run 18x5.5 inch MaxDaddy wheel. You can mount a 180/55/18 simply by removing stock wheel and sliding it right in. So if you want to run a bigger tire you might want to look into that route but be ready to spend the buxs for it and he is not the only one offering the wheel size, but as an example. Your money spend it wisely.

You can do the same thing with the new Carrozzeria wheels we are selling. AND, they are lighter and handle better then the UFO wheels.

No matter where you buy the wheel your going to spend a lot of change. I rather have a matching pair wheels. But that is on the list but a lot farther down on it. And the Carozzeria look great. How much dose a set of Carazzeria's run on average Sean? It is on my list, 18's front and rear

We have a special right now since we are having a custom run made. $1850 shipped. After March the price will go to $2250 shipped.

:punk: Are these wheels in stock and do you have chrome sets. Thanks, Spurs

They will not be in stock until March sometime. They are in production right now. Carr is building them just for me. They were discontinued a couple of years ago and I got them to make a special run of them. We can have them chromed but it does add $750 or so to the cost. Rand on here had his set chromed and they turned out sweet.

You may want to check out the Carr thread. The customers that commit early (deposit received before March) will get then cheaper ($1850 shipped not counting chrome) vs $2250 after that.
