I sent him an email asking, & he said the bike isn't close to where he is, not sure how he intends to sell it. 'marsmax85's' info puts it in the approximately first quarter of production, assuming about 7000 were made for the USA, and sold as 1985 models.

I have 'a close friend' who has a late '85 production date, but it's titled as an '86. It's the dark purple one.
