Anyone have a 3D printer? I have a project.
Can a 3D printer make Tripple Trees strong enough with alumiinum?
I seen a magazine at work that had a story on DMSL Direct Metal Laser Sintering. I believe this is the company the story was about.3D is best for test parts to verify the model will fit and then it can be setup for conventional machining. The 3d Aluminum printer is very expensive and about a 50% failure rate (not sure if they charge for the failures). They would not probably be strong enough to hold I wouldn't think? It would cost a LOT to do it with something as large as a triple. Maybe another 10 or 20 years from now the cost will be lower.
