Just bought a Kosman 18" rear wheel and have been looking for a set of radial tires for it and the stock front rim.

I believe the front is 2.5" wide and the Kosman is 5.5". The problem is finding a matched set that uses these rims as the recommended size.

120/70-18 tires are NOT recommended for less than 3.0" rims so that leaves 110/80-18. (Couldn't find a 110/90-18 radial tire). 160/60-18 tires are NOT recommended for rims wider than 5.0" so that leaves 170/60-18 or 180/55-18. I cannot find any manufacturer that makes the same model/style radial tires in these sizes.

Any ideas or knowledge of what will work?

Avon Storm 110/80-18 - for the front get a metzler me880 180/55-18 rear these will work great together. Your going to want to space your front fender down about 3/4 or 5/8 of an inch to make it look right!

People do run a 120 on the 2.5 but I am not one to run the wrong size tire on a rim. You have two tires you're counting on... Why take the chance?

I run a 120/70/18 but I have a 3.5" front wheel.

Agreed. You'll have a very hard time finding matched set tires when running an 18" rear.
I run an Avon Venom 180/55-18 rear and Metzler Roadtec Z6 in 120/70-18 in front but that is on a 3.5" front wheel as well.

This combo works for me and sticks good enought to use ALL the tread without slipping on good pavement.

I did run a 120/90-18 bias tire on the stock front wheel 2.25" ? with no issues before I changed out the wheels and It never gave me any problems but there really wasn't any advantage to doing it that way. I wouldn't do it again.

Metzeler Roadtec 110/80ZR18 front and Metzeler ME880 180/55ZR18 rear, anything wrong with that ?

Nope.

I'm running that same setup in front and that same size in back with an Avon Venom-R with very good results.

I am running michelin pilot road radials front and back.Stock front rim,Kosman 17" rear rim.

I'm running the Roadtec Z6 in 120/70-18 with the ME880 in back and it works great! :thumbs up:

I cant wait to try the bike after changing to 18" rear and radials, next would be to stiffen the frame and lower the seat hopefully before spring. My Max is the FIRST around here to get radials !:rocket bike:
