Advice on damaged car wheel

Wife hit a curb while turning and it appears to have taken a notch (1/2 inch) out of the rim. Tire still holds air but sustained sidewall damage so will have to be replaced. Is rim OK or will this also need replacement?

Steel or aluminum? Guess it really doesn't matter . I would fix it, the guy changing the tire may not want to put a good tire on a bad wheel anyway. I've fixed quite a few cracked aluminum wheels , there must be someone in your area that could do it and fixing is prolly a lot less then new. Maybe a used one from a bone yard?

Double check ebay and local craigslist, there are some good deals out there for single wheels.

Is rim OK or will this also need replacement?

Hard to tell without a pic. Ive done the same thing, this island jumped right out in front of me in a parking lot LOL. Had to replace both tire & wheel:bang head:
