It has been stated in other threads (by sean) that the 6 pot calipers from the early 90's yzf750r are a direct bolt on for our '93+ Vmax's, it was also stated that these calipers are very hard to come by as the yzf750r is a realatively rare bike. This is true ,and when I have found them people are usually asking from $120-$180 per caliper.
The other day while doing some research I came across this little nugget, the very same calipers were used on the '94 FZR1000, '94 only. I immediately jumped on ebay out of curiosity and there wer 3 or 4 sets, I bought a set that came with lines, master cylinder and lever for $40+shipping.
Recieved them today and when I got home did a test fit and they do indeed bolt right up :punk:and unlike the R1 calipers the brake line fitting is on top so the stock lines will not need to be kinked to be attatched. Tried to get a pic but my camera battery needs to be charged, will post one later.

Just an FYI for those that may be interested.

How well do the 6 pots work with the stock master cylinder? Is there a benefit to swapping out to a 14mm master or does it work well with stock since we would be displacing a different amount of fluid?

I can tell you the stock master works quite well with the 6 piston tokico's and have not had any complaints with the 6 pistons for the later model forks too.

+1, I have stock master cylinders/ 6 piston Tokico's/ HH pads/ SS lines and the braking is tremendous! I use just 2 fingers to use all the traction that my front tire offers, although I can lock the front if I'm trying, it's easy to modulate.
It is such a great upgrade from my stock '92 2 piston calipers it's almost scary with how little braking I had compared to what I have now. My calipers came off a 2002-04 Hayabusa and required a little bit of filing on the trailing edge of the caliper. I'm running the chinese wavy rotors.

I have some of these 6 pots for 93-07 vmax. They are indeed a bolt on. No mods needed to anything. The brake lines work out just fine and everything!

If anyone is interested in buying a set let me know. I have some for sale. ***** EDIT: They are sold******

Here are some pics.

No, I really don't have much sitting around at all. Just some odds and ends. I just try to make sure the stuff I do have is useful. I don't have much luck with that though. For instance, anyone need parts for a '78 GS 550E?
