Monday afternoon, I was working at my desk and got a really nasty chill. I mean a bone shaker. A temperature check showed a 102 degree fever. Crap, here we go again... I fortunately had a 10 day scrip for Keflex 500 mg in the fridge. Took a few Tylenol 500s, and started the Keflex. I called my doctor the next morning, by then the leg had started turning red, and getting hot. However, there was no fever, and I wasn't dry heaving. He advised me that I caught it before it got too entrenched in my skin, keep up with the Tylenol and Keflex, and call him the next day. Today is Friday, the swelling and fever is gone, and the redness and pain have disappeared.
He also called in another 10 day for Keflex, to have on hand. If I would have waited till the next day to start the Keflex, I'd have been in a real mess..
During the day or two that I felt sick, I did start feeling sorry for myself, Christmas alone, being sick alone... I was getting a bit depressed. I did a lot of praying, and soul searching, and came to the conclusion that I'm luckier and better off than a lot of people. I do know that just feeling better will brighten ones mood, but realizing through experience how sick I could have gotten, I feel grateful for how it worked out.
So, I'm back to close to 100%, and in a lot better place.
Merry Christmas to ALL of my friends here on the forum! (And that means ALL of you!)
