I'm sure I have a few of them. Most of the time we switch them out to braided lines. What happened to yours? They usually don't go bad (other then the steel wire covering which can be removed).

Thanks Clintard. The e-bay hose appears to be damaged. In one of the pics it looks like the hose is torn or something.

There is something wrong with my stainless clutch line where it connects to the clutch pipe going to the slave cylinder. This thread documents the saga: http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=3415

I'm about 5 minutes away from dumping the stainless line, not because it is worse than a rubber OEM line, but because I can't eliminate the leak at the fitting.

As I see it there are only 2 reasons it would leak; 1, the fittings are dirty or 2, the fittings are not tight enough. I have cleaned and tightened the fittings, tried teflon, etc. The fittings are tight and clean and still leak.

The only other thing that I think could possibly be a problem would be that maybe the little brass oval fitting is worn. I found a Galfer catalog which shows the fitting:

It appears you can buy the fitting - an olive - from this site? http://00a660c.netsolstores.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=31

I haven't seen the OEM cable but I assume that it does not use a brass fitting like this?

Once I get the fitting to stop leaking, I still have to deal with a leak at the clutch slave. I don't see what could leak at the clutch slave unless 1, the piston is dirty/damaged (fluid leaking past the piston), or 2, if the banjo bolt/washers are damaged.

I have one in the shed off my 96 - if interested, I will have a good look at it to make sure it in good shape and if so, it's yours - pm me if interested.
