I was looking for Progressive front springs to drop things a bit.
According to Progressive, the same springs crossed referenced identical to a Suzuki VS800. So I'm thinking the forks have to be comparable if they share the same springs.(39mm fork compared to Vmax 40mm)

A little more digging found me this. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/d...25&sblid_name=Cobra_VS_____Front_Lowering_Kit

Granted it's not Progressive quality and it's the normal compression type, but for 10 bucks I thought it might be worth a shot.

Anyone tried this or simply have thoughts or ideas on this ultra-frugal approach to lowering the suspension?

The lowering part of the kit is the spacers in the middle between the springs. You can make them yourself by cutting up some thickwall PCV or metal/brass tubing.

I think that you get what you pay for. Forks and springs are not where I would look for the lowest bidder.
