This looks awesome.... I think i want one :eusa_dance:

It is a nice unit. There is another unit for around $90 from the same people, its the ATC-2000. Its waterproof and takes vids @ 30 frames per second.

I'll have the full write-up with specs and my opinion (not that it really matters much) from using it and installing the software posted tomorrow night.

I planned on having it posted tonight but I was reading my doctors note about my ADD then I started listening to "White Rabbit" and..... cool there's this bird on my window I wonder what hes doing. That reminds me there was this one time at band camp.......

That is cool, I'm going to pick up one of those. Can you add on an external microphone or do you have to use the built in one?

I'm afraid your stuck with the built in mic in the front of the unit. It grabs alot of wind noise, but a piece of thin foam or a hunk of a wind screen from a mic glued to the unit should keep the noise down.

Then again the software has a section to dub music over the video.

I've ridden with the atc2k on my helmet and on my handlebars. The bar mount is easier to set up for me, the rubber strap on the helmet just doesn't hold the camera still enough in the wind, I'm still not too sure about gluing the mount to my helmet like KJ did. But I think if you mounted it like he did the video would be clearer, the vibs from the bars make the video roll a little.

I'll post a video on youtube and get a link on here, even though they are nothing to look at they might give you an idea about the quality you could expect.

Here's a couple of videos useing the ATC2K.

This first one is on the Vmax handlebar, probably would look a lot better on a sunny day. I belive the vibration in the handlebar causes the "rolling" effect but I'm not sure. The sound is pretty bad, I was surprised at how little you can hear the exhaust.

The second video is with the camera mounted on my helmet useing the rubber strap that comes with it. The strap does not hold the camera firm enough to keep it from shaking around in the wind, but there doesn't seem to be any "rolling" in the video.

That's my wifes Vrod, the max had no tail or turn signals at the time.

It look s good.

On sunny days I think the picture will be alot better. I took my Max out today for the first test of the year.

I just went around my block to test the helmet cam. I didn't realize that I ride with my head down. so needless to say I removed the cam and refitted it.

Now it pretty much lines up, when the adheasive hardens by to tomorrow I'll have another go at it. The audio flat out sucks. it grabs too much wind noise. I'm going to affix some old wind sock material I have from a olf microphone, we'll see how that works. Tomorrow, when everything dries, I'll take another video.

Till them, I know its crappy and looking down.. I was hoping to show you guys around my block, but instead.... I now present.. the streets, I live on :rofl_200:

Those clips look really good!:thumbs up: I think the handle bar and helmet location are both acceptable. The VRod is really quiet! I thought the exhaust would be louder.

KJ's sound was better than mine, but i guess the sound is not what these cameras were made for. I think the way KJ has it mounted will turn out to be the best way, the video looks smoother and I like to see what the rider is looking at. Looking forward to seeing KJ's next video!

The Vrod has a Vance&Hines Power shot exhaust, it does sound louder in person but not too loud.

I think I have a cure for the sound. I took my hot glue gun and let the glue become partially melted, I then swirted a shot in the mike. That way it forms a "plug" that can easily be removed. I tested the removal already. works great.

My back is killing me from chipping ice and stacking wood this morning, so no new video til tomorrow. Oh well, the adheasive has to harden anyway. But I think the wind noise will no longer be a factor. I'm probably just going to dub some music in anyway.

OK so the sound cure isn't quite there yet. but I did re-adjust the cam and now you see what I see. I still have to twist it a lil more to get the picture level.

The wind noise is still there, the popping isn't from the bike. I'll work on the wind noise more.

But here is my block. Even tossed in a lil front end lift by the state troopers' house. :punk: lol.

it's overcast and mild snow. and about 26 deg F and half rain and snowing, outside. The vid could have been better, but I just had my VMOA t-shirt and my sweatpants on.

I think the camera will do just fine in the sunny, summer days :biglaugh:

Great!

Where are the Eskimos and grizzlies? You have cars in Alaska? lol

What is a good video editing program for beginers?

I need to shorten some of the vids I've taken and splice them together!

I use pinnacle studio plus, http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/ I picked it up for about $100. I also have the full version of quicktime, but 'I'm not liking it.

Windows has its Windows Movie Maker 2.1 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx its a free download. Chances are its already installed on your system if your running XP or vista. Its easy to use and has alot of features.

Have you tried mounting on the faux, maybe with a good qaulity suction cup with a mount for the cam?

Maybe a velco vest so the cam can be attached to your chest area?
I made a video from a digital cam and duct taped it to my helmet. The good thing is when its on you your cam you dont get the skakes and crap. Only if you move your head around like your watching a tennis match
