Well I made it back about an hour ago. It was a pretty nice trip got to see some old friends. A friend of mine had this Vstar 650 thats been sitting in storage. I am not sure rather I am gonna put the finishing touches on it & ride it or sell it whole or part it out. I guess I will figure it out soon. It is really cool looking though. Some one done a lot of work tearing it down & powder caoting the whole bike & putting forward controls & suicide shift on it.

Those are some pretty radical changes to the original bike. Would make a nice bobber with a little cleanup/polishing.

????? to the bike..:biglaugh: My Back Too....Ouch....

Welcome Back..

Dave

I like it. the only thing I would change would be some higher bars on it. I think some ape hangers would look good on it.

I like it, too. See if you can stand running it around. I wouldn't of guessed it to be a V Star at a glance.

What is a suicide clutch?Excuse me.and what is the cable on the gear shift for? Please enlighten.Kevman.oh yeah happy new year.

A suicide clutch or "jockey shift" as it's sometimes called refers to where the shift leaver resides.

The lever by the left footpeg is the clutch (last picture). The suicide shifter will rest along side of the bike (second to the last picture). Its kinda like a car, you push in the clutch, reach down and grab a gear.

Suicide term was derived from taking one hand off the handlebars while shifting. Could be really tricky when on the throttle , turning right or left , pushing the clutch and shifting at the same moment.

Once modified, don't ride it to the yearly Pumpkin Run in Ga. Cops there were giving tickets if one hand was removed from the handlebars. Not having control of the vehicle was the infraction. Smokers beware... Guess you gotta let the ashes fall where they may and eat the remains to avoid a littering fine...:rofl_200:

Hell I just got rid of one suicide shift & now I drag another one home. I dont know whats a matter with me. I probably wont keep it long since I seem to sell every thing except for my 85

I'm not leaving any of my bikes there overnight unless they're chained to Christine's VMax. They'd be gone the next day...:rofl_200:

CaptainKyle, I don't know what you've got workin for you but use and abuse these Super Human Abilities while you've got em.:worthy:
