Definetly a good price, but I'm cheap and not convinced I really need one. My Honda always sat all winter with no maintainer and the battery hooked up. Always had plenty of juice in the spring to start, even having to crank it for quite a while.
The P/O of my Max had one, and hooked up a lead to the battery to make charging easier, since the battery on the Max is kinda a PITA to access. He said he used the Tender religiously due to the fact that Max's tend to run a little low on voltage. I noticed that too initially, then I did the "crimp fix" and that boosted voltage nearly a full volt(from a questionable 12.5 running to a normal 13.4)
