Best use of a Go-Pro

A Go-Pro attached to a balloon travels to 88,000 ft. and records some great video, before it returns to earth when the balloon bursts. The camera wasn't found for 2 years when it was recovered by a hiker. The ascent started near the Grand Canyon. Wonder why they didn't have some sort of locating device on it?

I thought about that also, but knowing how high the balloon normally reaches before it bursts and drift distance, the transmitter would most likely run out of power before they could ever find it.

Well, the memory card survived. I wonder how well the camera did from a fall like that?
