I've got a set of 4-2 Mark's headers on the way, and am looking at the Level One Racing exhaust for the satin black GP mufflers.

The two lengths I am considering are their two.six.zero (10.25") or the three.three.zero (13") canisters. All of their mufflers have a 2.25" core.
I have seen on this forum that a lot of guys seem to have cut down their canisters to around 12", is this for performance reasons, or just better sound? I like the idea of a shorter canister, but don't want to go that route if it will adversely effect the performance, or make my ears bleed. LOR says the 10.25" canister will be around 104-105 db while the 13" will be around 100 db. Does anyone have any db readings from exhausts they have so I have some sort of comparison? I am running Supertrapp slip-ons right now with 8 discs and open end caps, but I can't find anything on what the sound level is for that particular setup.
