Do they center the text on the actual plate? I have a 4 letter plate in place of the possible 6 letters and they centered the text on the plate.

No, it NY it's not centered, because your reg sticker goes on the right side. See:

I think the new color scheme is ugly as hell. Glad I ordered my plate a few weeks before the "started" issuing these new ones.

Have to wait and see if your plate gets approved. I'd be kind of surprised if DMV lets "nadz" go through, though it obviously already got by the online pre-scanner. Be kool if it does....mine took about 3 weeks to show up, I ordered it online.
