I'm at 800 ft. Morley kit, full exhaust 152.5 mains stage 7 on 3.5 clip. I still get occasional pop back through carbs at 3000 rpm and it's hot out. A/F 2.5 to 4.5 turns out. it's so close.....but I think I'm going to be lean as soon as temp drops. I may have to go to 155s and drop a clip on the needles. Every bike is bit different.....you may be ok with 155s!

I'm at 1100 ft. Muscle jet kit. 150 mains. FP needles 2 clips from the blunt end. A/F screws 3 turns out for the front, and 3.5 turns out for the rears. A/F at idle (cold) 13.9, A/F at idle (hot) 13.2. A/F running around town 13-15. A/F at 75 mph (5100 rpm) 14.3-14.5. I'm also getting over 39 mpg.

A dyno and things like this are invaluable for tuning a Vmax. http://www.ebay.com/itm/270979863067?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

How did you measure A/F driving around town? That's great mileage. I'm struggling with that as I used to get 40mpg with stock needles/ 170 mains. Now with set up above I'm down to 30mpg. But the bike is a lot faster! Sorry to vary from orig poster but all this is great info.

The innovate company that sells the A/F meter also sells a suction cup mount to attach the A/F meter to you vehicles windshield. I suction cup it to the tank, and when I get done with the tour around town, I take it off, and store it again.

I really like the minimalist look of the Vmax, so I didnt want to add extra gauges...etc, and mess up the hotrod look.

Here is a dyno run from april, from my friend AsherC. He runs Seans kit as well. 150 mains, kerker 4-1, and needles 2.5 clips. He went from 2 clips, added a spacer (equal to .5 clip) and you can see the extra TQ/HP that he picked up thru the midrange, which translates to better numbers uptop. He also get about 40 mpg.

Here is his thread. http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=35151

As soon as I get new clutches put in, I'm planning another dyno run to see where I am.
