Hey all, I am in the middle of doing the shotgun on the carbs. What does everyone use to clean up the a/f screw and spring? Mine has the white chalky looking buildup on it. Also, how can you tell if the end of the screw is damaged from being bottomed out too hard? Thanks.

Carb cleaner is the way to go.

Look at the A/F screw with a magnifying glass - you'll easily see if its end is straight and undamaged or squashed and flattened.

Don't lose or forget the tiny washer and o-ring on each A/F screws!

So like carb cleaner and a toothbrush? Stuff is pretty caked on.

prolly best to let it soak in the carb cleaner for a while then. Best done in a sealed container as the cleaner's very volatile

Found a brass brush buried in the toolbox. Worked like a charm with the carb cleaner. Thanks guys.
