Well, working on my bike, having a good time, thinking about the spring in a couple of months.

Then Mother nature woke up the Alaska February cold snap. -54 deg outside my back porch. After checking the hot tub to make sure it didn't freeze I went inside to pray to the weather gods for an early winter break-up..

I'm a draftsman by trade, I draft parts on my Autocad setup here at the house, mess with my playstation and read during the off season.

I was wondering what you others do when they can't ride.

Work out and work on the bikes... This year I am gutting the lower level of my house! :thumbs up:

Still a work in progress... Mostly just painting and some trim work to do.

Winter is usually a time to go snowmobiling and other winter sports (ice fishing, sliding with kids, etc...) But a badly herniated disk on Dec 22nd pretty well left me on my back stoned on percasets. Just starting to get up and around, and have been doing small things to the max to keep me from going crazy.

Glad I found this forum to keep me busy also!

I couldnt imagine Alaska winters!!!!

Like yourself, I pray for a early Spring. Spend too much time in the shop, treadmill it with the wife, kill the pain with plenty of Miller and mod my bikes to what I like.

I still cannot fathom this concept.... Not Riding??? I took her to work today.... and The Lord said that it was GOOD!!!!
:rocket bike:

Not riding :ummm: is that the time between getting in & out of bed?

I'm just looking forward to warmer rain in the summer
:rofl_200:

Work overtime, run the snowblower for the driveway and yard , freeze while I take the dogs out for a *****, do a little TV and hang around here the rest of the time. I didn't take any parts off the Max this year - so I got nothing to work on. My garage is not heated and it's too friggin cold to do anything else out there - so life is pretty limited right now. I sleep allot more and the play guitar now and again.

Did I mention running the snowblower ? Man we have got a few huge dumping's this year. I should explain now why I do the backyard....or you guys might think I've lost it or something. But one of the dogs is way too small to get around in the deep snow so I clear the yard for her. What a pain in the ***, but she's worth it.
The wife gets me to do few jobs for her and I don't mind because she pretty patient when bike season comes around. ( shall I rephrase that to sometimes )
Last but not the least : Day dream about the summer so I can get out of the house more and get out on the bike ! I'm considering getting a sled for next year, winter is just too damm long do not have something that you like to do.

Unfortunately, this is an old injury from a snowmobile accident when I was 17 years old - every once in a while I pop my back - usually lifting something - this time it was the worst since the original accident - the disk inner gelly sack went in the spinal canal and is pinching the central nerve which causes complete body muscle spasms - they have ruled out operating for now. Only good thing about it is that it happened in the winter so that I am not loosing out on the bike riding season.

Thanks for the well wishes, 113s&s

Mike
