Here is the cracked coil myth debunked.

A good explanation of the value of the OEM system, and how infrequently they go bad. You showed the case ground-down to the epoxy insulation, and still no electrical leakage.

Here's another myth - "increased performance from coil over plugs" (cop's).
You can have that same performance increase with a little routine maintenance.
- clean and di-electric grease your coil cap contact points. Below is an image of a MaximX coil cap with a top bend. Vmax is identical without the bend.
- replace old plug wires with new wire
