The kit I had also did not work so we made our own adapter. I took an old sparkplug and gutted it out so all I had left was the steel section. That took me well over an hour!!!!!!! Man, they really put the NGK's together well. I had to beat on that thing relentlessly to get all the ceramic to crack out enough to be removed. Then I had to beat it back into shape so the socket would fit it well if I needed to.
I then got my air fitting (hardware store) and a section of tubing and welded them together. Now I had something to thread in and be able to plug my tester into.
