Just about every nut and bolt on my 20 year old VMax is corroded or rounded. Thats probably from being in the tropics.

Anyway, was changing the coolant, and the allen screws on the cylinder heads were rounded off. I read in the instructions that I need to remove those to drain the coolant in the heads. I left them in and flushed out fluids three times, running it for ten minutes while fresh fluids were in. The water eventually ran clean and then readded water/coolant at 50/50. Are there any issues not removing those allen screws? I am hoping the flushing process cleaned out the heads.

Thanks,
Don

Hey man I can help with this. I recently replaced those covers on my max with a polished set of four. When I opened the drain at the front of the motor, and removed the bolt under the water pump, all coolant had drained out when I had gotten to the water jacket covers. I think your good if you flushed the system until it ran clear. One Allen socket stripped out on me and was quickly drilled out and removed with an easy-out, no problem. In the pic I show the open jacket, you can see that a flush would get everything. [email protected] if I can help.
