Noticed my bike running hot today. Put on the fan and it cooled down nicely. When I got home I check the coolant level it was low. I dont know what coolant was in the bike as I bought it in Oct. Can I add any coolant or should I drain the system and refill it . Also whats the best coolant to use in Max. And can I add water till I can figure it out

I like toyota red, used it in all aluminum engines and i'd get some of that and fill at the fill up neck under the right scoop and then overflow tank and then monitor for now.

a good flushing if you are unsure of the history is a good idea too, its pretty painless on a vmax.

Red and green makes sludge, so stick with whatever is in there or flush for a long time before switching.

Posted with my thumbs.

Flush first then get a coolant with no silicates or phosphates designed for aluminum engine and use 50/50 ratio with distilled water. Download manual for instructions on the little knob position in front for draining, refilling. I also changed out my thermostat and all degradable parts. (Drain plugs, gaskets, etc).

Just my two cents...but, I wouldn't spend the money on engine ice (agian). I have it in mine and it runs just the same as the green 50/50 that was in there before. Its not cheap, cost $40 cause you need two bottles. Some swear by it, but having used it, next time I'll save $30 for what seem like to me the same protection.

I used that stuff in my 2500.00 dolla bike and sold it for 7500.00 that **** adds value !! j/k

Darn right it does. EVERYONE can agree that the more it costs, the better it is. This is true for everything from oil, brake pads & tires to seat covers & handlebars.

Just thinking hope the fricken Gov't doesn't see this ad they might buy all the stock them overpaying focks with my money !!!

No. They pay that much for the cheap brand instead.

My 95 chevy....iron head 350 with TBI....only reason I still have it !

Yeah, I think that was the last year for those iron heads on a small block chevy too. I had a 95, 305 TBI.
TBI sucked big time. MAP sensor instead of MAF,

I hate to burst your bubble but you must not have worked on a Harley in a while.

Your right...I havent ever worked on a Harley, but considering that a good portion of the Harley riders that I know DONT claim the Vrod because its water cooled, and ALREADY dont like the new 500's and 750's. People dont like change.

Actually show that 1 sold! :rofl_200:

Dang it man, they went back and corrected their listing to show the right price too. It was a lot funnier when they wanted $5000/gal for the stuff.
