so if i'm not mistaken, my max is weeping oil from the left-hand crankcase breather cover bolt.
1) what could have happened to have caused this? age? normal wear? it's an '04 with 38K miles. something like, i don't know, causing too much pressure?
2) what can i do to fix this? can i simply unscrew and rescrew the bolt with some sealant?
so i'll consult my service manuals, but lemme ask y'all the following in case y'all are harboring any tribal knowledge, tips, and/or tricks that isn't in the manuals.
1) if rescrewing the bolt isn't an option, is removing the carbs (and everything else that is in the way, of course) all i have to get at the breather cover?
2) how difficult is it to unmount and install the carbs?
3) what parts will i need to replace--just the upper and lower gaskets for the breather cover? and how about the carbs, are there any mounting gaskets, washers, clips, etc that will need to be replaced?
