I have to give my hats off to the vendors on this site. the products offered are the very best. I was concerned that the rack/rest would interfere with the maxgasser. let me be the first to say, it fits like they were made for each other. the pictures will do the talking...

thanks to Dobie Gillum at Cycle-istic for the new addition to the bike, the wife will be very happy that shes not going to go flying off the back...

i wouldnt trade this seat for anything, but when travelling i bungeed the bags to the pillon. it wasnt a big deal to detach for fueling, but now... i can leave everything bundled up. and when riding solo, the backrest just unbolts and the rack can stay on. its a great looking piece. pictures dont do it justice... and VERY sturdy. as promised.

Evan , I assume thats the back rest you were asking about. It does look good ,bet the wife could fall asleep on it now(LOL)

Evan, i dig the backrest rack combo. I also was looking at your pipes in that series of pics, what are you running?

that is correct, it a marks and not quiet whatsoever.... 2 3/4" boom ba boom ba boom. I think the bike is finally where I want it to be....

thanks for the comments everyone!

Re: cycle-istic Vmax rack/rest

Thanks for the kind words, Evan. I try, that's all we can do. As Rusty said, paraphrasing George Peppard on the A-Team "I love it when a plan comes together". :eusa_dance:

Just said that off the top of my head.I didn't even realize I was quoteing George Peppard.:rofl_200:

so i'm wanting a setup that is VERY easy to attach and detach the back rest like in a manner of minutes. i want to be able to run without when i'm solo, but at the last minute be able to attach the back rest when the missus wants join in. similar to the selling point of the HAC. is this possible with yours? if so, i'm thinking that the brackets remain attached? if so, what does that look like? same thing goes with the parcel rack. i'd like to run without it most of the time, but be able to hook it up at a moment's notice.

Well, it's not designed as a quick-release, it's designed with strength as a major concern, but there are only 4 bolts which mount the entire assembly, so it's not very time-consuming. Once mounted, if you wish, you can remove either the backrest or the rack, or both, in a matter of a few minutes. So far, everyone has been very happy with the setup.

I got the rack and sissybar very quickly. Installation was a breeze. Very nice product.............

Well, like a dummy, I forgot to renew my banner ad, so it disappeared for a few days. Just want everyone to know that I am still around and still making the 1st gen backrest/rack setup. I mailed a check, and Gary was kind enough to put the banner back up even before receiving it. I love this forum and the administrators!
