I just tore down and completely cleaned my friends carbs off of his 85 vmax and was just wondering if there was any diff in the carbs from year to year,especially from the 85 to all the other years.His production date on his bike is 2/85 and my 86 has a date of 10/85.I've been told that the 85 had the bigger carbs when they came out than the vmaxes that followed.I've also been told that my 86 was the last year of the bigger carbs and higher hp.If thats even true why would that be?Because mine was manufactured in 85.Anyone have a solid answer on this?It not killing me to find out but Ned(owner of the 85)Says he was under the impression all these years that the 85s had more stock power than the others.What could be identified or measured on my carbs to his to find any differences?Thanks in advance for any info,Ride safe and Happy Easter everyone...Dave:hitsfan:
