ok,

so I get the bright Idea that I want my diff. powdercoated black to match my swingarm. At the time Im thinkin' no prob. tear it down get it pcoated re-assemble and vaaarooooom im outa there.

WRONG----

this has turned out to be a slow process. Pcoater wanted all bearings removed. one of the bearings the realy big one requires a special tool to get it out. Apparently unless you are a yamaha dealer you cannot buy this stupid special tool.

A friend of mine was able to get a friend of his at yamama to order this damn thing for me and the damage on this miracle tool was over $100
for a friggin' big ass socket.

once I have this diff. pcoated and re-assembled it will probably sit in my toolbox until ...well .. forever.

I was wondering if anyone has a need for this special tool, if so I would like to try and get some $$ back out of it. anyone interested please let me know.

I made mmy own tool for removing the threaded alloy pinion retainer.
Be aware that this retainer is a left-hand thread!
