Hi guys. New to the forum and appreciative of the knowledge here. Working on rear tire change on a 2009 and have been fighting reinstalling the differential/driveshaft for way too many hours. Not my first drive shaft install and usually no problem. Aware that this model has the one wider spline but still cant seem to get it installed. Any secret tricks I'm missing here? Thanks in advance for any help!

You should be able to see a big white marking on the female end of the splines up inside your driveshaft tube. Memorize where that marking is, and be sure to align the matching white mark on your shaft before you begin pushing it back inside the tubing. You should also be able to get at the female splines by removing the rubber grommet on the inside edge of the tubing. When I changed out my wife's 240 tire last month, it was a real beeotch trying NOT to scratch the wheel, all the while making sure those marks were aligned, BUT I had zero problems with the shaft going up into the female splines once I had them near each other. I didn't even have to reach inside with a screw driver to help them match into each other. Just slid right together ONCE I HAD THOSE MARKS ALIGNED.

Good luck.

Thx Jfeagins for the reply. multiple attempts again...and fairly sure the spline was lined up. In the end had to lightly tap in with rubber mallet. Only thing I can guess was the o-ring friction???? well anyway it's finished and thanks for taking the time to answer!
