Every time I go on ebay lately I have the same problem. I do a search and it may come up 12 pages long or whatever. No matter what I do I can only view the first page that comes up. I hit the next page button or if I type a page number in the "go to page" box it does nothing but take me to the top of the original, first page. Anyone ever have an issue like this or know what might fix it??:confused2:

Yeah mine was doing the same thing. Then after a day or two it would bring up the first page, then change to the page I selected. I didn't do anything to fix it and don't know why it started doing that in the first place. Sorry I couldn't be any more help, other than verify it's not your computer. :confused2:

it's easy to click on something that changes settings such as this by mistake..

Best way to fix is log off, log back in and click on 'my ebay'. That 'usually' resets things.

Delete your cookies and history in your computer. I'm sure you just have a cookie hanging out there.

If you use FireFox this can be done EVERY time you log off.

Same here.

It's wonderful how eBay forces JavaScript upon us when it doesn't even work. You'll see that when you try to click on the link for the next page, the browser jumps to the top of the eBay page and then nothing else happens.

There are 2 workarounds that I know of:
One is to navigate to the bottom right-hand side of the eBay screen and select a higher number of results to be displayed (i.e., select 200 instead of 25). This might eliminate the need to page, assuming your PC and connection are up to snuff.

The other workaround is .... a URL manipulation .... Start by typing in a seach query. Look at the number of pages returned. For example, your search returned 16 pages of results. Now you know you have 16 pages of data to look through. Now go to the top of the screen and paste the following on the very end of the address in the address bar:
&_pgn=2

If you want page 3, paste this:
&_pgn=3

If you want page 4, paste this:
&_pgn=4

Etc.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I deleting my entire browsing history, and downloaded a java update that my computer has been reminding me about for a while. Restarted the *****, and.................. Same old **** on ebay. Hit the next button and it does nothing but takes me to the top of page 1 WTF?!

Try a right click and open in a new tab, then close the current tab. This is what I have had to resort to. It's not even consistent for me. Sometimes the page number links at the bottom work like they should and sometimes they don't.

There is more than &_pgn=x in the URL of the pages following the first one. I haven't tried it, but I question whether adding just that will work.

P.S. Safari is what I use.

Seemed to change the search results accordingly when I tried it.

Yeah, it worked for me too. So far, its been the only thing to get me past page 1 and I deleted all browsing history, cookies, passwords, forms, etc... installed my java updates, restarted, blah blah blah.

copy and pasted what shuriken said to do right on the end of the url and it worked for me.

Thanks for the idea by the way! Not really how I want to be browsing but better than nothing for right now.

Me neither. As I said, it sucks when developers try to add features that break a web site. Since eBay went to their "new design", I've seen all kinds of problems. I wonder if any of these bugs are getting back to the programmers?

For me, it seems, that if I first refresh page 1, then hit the next page number, it will still bounce to the top of page 1, but go ahead and begin going to page 2. But it is slow and a pain in the butt.

That was the first thing I tried before the URL hack. It worked a few times. Maybe it worked all the time, but if you have to wait 35 seconds for their web servers to spit out the next iteration of search results, who among us is patient enough to wait?
