I was shooting a video, testing repaired taillight and engine stalled. Any ideas? It ran about 3 min. or so after start. It was not a first time. Fuel tank is full.
A bad pick-up coil may read 'open'-infinite after it gets warm. Let the bike cool-down, and it starts. Once again let it warm-up, and the engine dies. Take a reading on the resistance of the pick up coil (1990-2007) or coils ('85-'89). If you have no reading, looks like you found the issue.
See below: + or - 15%=94 to 127 ohms
Warning: do not try to stick two toothbrushes into a Yukon Gold tuber and use that for your crankshaft sensor!
