Vote behind closed doors, anonymous ballot, the night before 115th Congress convenes.... doesn't seem shady at all. I particularly love the double standard of an anonymous vote so the citizens can't see which representatives voted for this... and their change removes anonymous complaints. A clear display of "Do as I say, not as I do." Gotta love those folks in D.C.

Anonymous votes should not be allowed in Congress IMO. Congress is working for the people and being paid BY the people -- what they vote on should be on public record. Period. No exceptions. What a bunch of cowards we have in Congress. They talk tough to their constituents. They gleefully sign the Patriot Act robbing citizens of their privacy... but they get to keep their vote secret? Eff that noise.

I could not agree more about anonymous votes. I did just read that Trump was bashing this alteration of ethics oversight. I guess we'll soon see if its bluster or not, im not really sure what power he will have to restore it or install something new. I guess this is his time to shine and prove he has what it takes to do the right things. Ill be kind and spare everyone from my rant about the Patriot Act, its complete ineffectiveness at the stated goal, and total effectiveness at destroying Americans privacy, which I believe was the actual goal. Oh damn, I guess I didnt completely spare you after all. :biglaugh:

Looks like the blowback from their shady move caused them to re-think. Hell even Jack Ambramoff, the case that was sort of the reason for this office to exist in the first place even called them out on it.

They changed there minds ethics thing is back,Trump had a discussion with em.I know some of you don't like trump,For the life of me i don't know why.Fords staying,carrier is as well,Lockheed martin is working on the price of fighter jet's boeing is lowering the price of the new air force one.The guy ain't even in there yet. Surely you didn't want Hillary.And look at the mess obama left.Yea he may go to hell,Who knows.But damn give him the benefit of a doubt.I sure wouldn't want you picking out my choices.When he messes up give him hell then.No doubt he is mistake proof.He has a hell of a mess,And were in it too like it or not.Happy new year.

I understand what you mean. But I never mentioned Trump once on this particular issue. This was Reps in the House that pulled this shady move and that's who I called out. I gave Trump credit on the Carrier deal.

Do I like Trump? No, I've made that clear and the reasons I don't like him. But I'm not pulling a Rush Limbaugh or a Mitch McConnell and wishing him a failed presidency like they did for Obama, because that's wishing a failure for America.

I think America has big problems, but this election has convinced me that it's problems aren't just due to the folks in Congress or the folks in the White House. It's due to the divide we have among ourselves.

I believe it's both,The values and choices people make either help them succeed or fail,but some have no control of any of it.all i can do is my very best.Can't fix the world.But being a decent person is a start.And i feel that's what's missing in the world.Hell i may never change a thing.Life is too short to waste.I made plenty of mistakes,and was poor as dirt with a broken marriage.I picked up the pieces and made it back.All we can do is our best.Hell im all off track.We as a people can do better.so can our government.A wish for that is a good thing,I try not to dislike anyone.Trump was our best choice.Our only choice.It has to start somewhere.I wish everyone the best.unk:
