Just joined recently and searched the forums for this issue but couldn't really find this type of problem.
When I turn my ignition switch on all rear lights come on full, by that I mean turn signals are on and brake light is on constantly. Doesn't seem like things change it all when brake is operated or turn signals were turned on all lights remain the same. Also at the same time on the front of the bike the headlight doesn't come on with the ignition switch until I fiddle with the high low beam toggle. Anybody else have these kind of issues with a 97?

Suggestions:
Check your grounds. They need to be shiny-bright. And tight. One main one by the oil filler cap, a couple others, smaller gauge, at the faux tank latch which also contains the fuel pump. Use the chart for others.

You may have corrosion in one or more of your light sockets.

You can also clean your switch pods and the ignition switch.

Some help from our member ninjaneer.

I will check those. Thank you for the info.
Not really a wiring wizard but I can get through it, lol

Whilst happy to be told I'm wrong, I think those circuits are actuated via the chocolate coloured wires. If one of those is going to earth would that cause the issue?
It would be worthwhile having a look inside the indicator/ dimmer switch housing to see if anything is adrift in there.
Failing that do a thorough check of the loom to look for any damage.

I'll check for that color wire. Don't know if a ground would cause it without popping a fuse, but I ain't a wiring guru, lol
Pic is of ignition on. Gotta start tracing wire
