So today after we were riding my dad decidedthat he would roast what was left of his completely bald tire so we could put the new one on. So pulled in the driveway and smokes the tire let's off smokes the tire let's off, the last time while smoking tire suddenly the exhaust starts spitting out smoke. We shut it down and waited for it to cool down the started back up to see if hopefully it would bun off...well it didn't the bike smokes ouut the exhauset both sides, only 7500 miles...were thinking ringes maybe? Crossing fingers its not what else could it be???

Any ideas?

White-ish would indicate coolant, which I guess could be a head gasket and blue-ish would be oil, which could be rings.

Think it's time for some compression testing. Do a search on 'compression leak down test'

If it was oil smoke then the smell should give it away.

If it is coolant then you may see bubbles appearing if you remove the pressure cap when it's running (DO NOT remove the cap if the coolant is hot as a jet of boiling water up the arm tends to hurt!:th_people557:).
Additionally, if you have access to a CO meter then holding the end of the probe over the coolant may give a reading which would indicate a blown head gasket. (Warning #2 - do not let the probe dip into the coolant as it will be sucked into the meter which will offend the owner :real mad: and damage the contents of your wallet).

+1 on both post here, sounds like a coolant leak, is it a thick white when you rev it up?? take a video next time you start it up to check. Just curious how high did you end up revving it?

Typically these don't blow a head gasket and suck coolant in though it is possible. Usually they leak coolant out the overflow due to combustion pressures escaping into the system.
