Exhaust packing ????

How often do you have to change your exhaust packing? I have a Mark's full system 4-2 with 14" cans. The bike is an 06 with 12,000 miles. About 8,000 of those miles are with this exhaust.
I think it sounds a little different. I've been using a half helmet this year and usually listen to music with headphones so I'm not sure if it's different now or just that I haven't heard it with out music in a while.

Some race bikes do it every weekend.

I did my UFO's the first time at about 12,000-13,000 and they were completely empty of any glass at all.

Some packing is better than others

I would guess about 4-5,000 typical before degradation sets in. This is why glass packs fell by the way side in the hot rod market I believe.
