Exhaust removal

I've done this before but last time i tried i had a bitch of a time trying to get it apart. Is there a certain technique to do this or just brute force. When pipes are really stuck together is there a good way to get them apart or any special tools to help?

I've not tried it in this case, but have on stuck bolts. The parafin in a wax candle helps out a lot. You could try to melt the wax down the exhaust tubes, it'd just be a mess I'm sure. Again, I've just done it on bolts.
