Washed the bike last night at about 40 degrees. Froze my hands.
Rode to work this morning, it was 31 degrees when I left. Froze my a$$ off.
The ride home? 58 degrees, sunny. Sweet! Took the long way home.

That's funny weatherman What I'm doing a good job at losing weight right now So I probably shouldn't eat junk food I dropped from 260 to 248 And I still have another 18 pounds to go

Winter with all the holiday goodies and sitting around has a way of putting on some extra pounds. I'm trying to lose 10-15 myself.

From a friend that has all sorts of formulas for such stuff...

600lbs. bike with 120 hp and 250lbs rider... every 21lbs = .10 sec on et.

Gee I could gain half a second if I stopped eating junk food. Or too much food. Or maybe just ate the RIGHT foods. By my figures, that means 100 lbs. is worth about $8000 worth of engine work.

OR...

I could drop $8000 into my engine and be as fast as you guy at my current weight. Well at least some of you guys. would you believe a couple of you guys on a bad day??

Hey Craig,I can believe your neighbor didnt do the math?? lol He must have more money than brains!

I went down to the garage today with intentions of stripping the CR5 down to the bare frame so I can blast and paint it. I wasn't feeling very enthusiastic about the project. I pulled some parts off and bagged them up. Lumbered back to the bike and decided to open the garage door. Much to my surprise, it was actually nice out!

I turn back to the CR but I could not focus my attention on it. I kept thinking about the vmax, all covered up in her winter blankets, lurking deeper in the garage. I wondered if it would start, even though I didn't put any fuel stabilizer in.

My curiosity got the best of me. I pulled the covers off, let the fuel pump go thru a couple cycles, hit the start button and....nothing. WTF? It took me second the realize I wasn't in neutral. *******. Shift up into neutral, hit the button and it vroomed back to life.

Man, I forgot how good it sounded! I let it idle for a couple mins before shutting it off. Somehow, my lack of motivation was gone. I quickly checked and adjusted tire pressure, took it off the stands, removed the centerstand, pushed it out the door and fired it back up.

I hit the road with no destination in mind. Came across some guy on a BMW in traffic who gave the max a compliment. Hit the auto parts store, and then took the long way home.

All in all it was a great first ride. Looking forward to a lot more. Hopefully my new found motivation will last long enough for me to clean the bike! It didn't get a proper cleaning all winter.

My Son called me today. He was surprised that I sounded "cheery". Said the last few times he called I sounded really down. Then he said he had been talking about it with his roommate and told him that it wouldn't be long and rideing season would be here and I would be happier.

I laughed, and told him I had just got off my bike. In fact, I hadn't even taken my helment off yet... I was talking to him from inside my blue tooth helment and that made me double happy (first time with the new bluetooth helment and fist time I tried to take a call from it. I bought mostly so I could listen to music.)

Nice Mike, motivation goes way up when you can hear the motor running!
Hey Craig, what kind of radio and phone setup did you get?

I got the O'heil helment with the Blinc 3 bluetooth installed. Picked it up on e-bay used. The helment is a bit on the small size (I got an XL and it about as tight as my ARRi L) Wind nose is below my other two helmets. Getting it on and off is a pain because it has a chin shield like a snow mobile helment. I can hear the music OK at 70mph but no exactly HI FI. I can take calls while riding- but you really have to take the call and pull over to talk. Phone is nothing special just an android smart phone (Samsung) Paring is easy.

this does have FM built into it, but like every FM unit I have seen, it is useless.

I don't have any friends, so I have no way to test the intercom.

AS you may remember, I have an windshield and stock exhaust on my V-max. I don't think Todd could hear the music on his (BMFG)
