where would I find the font size settings for viewing on smartphone?

Those settings are not found in the forum, they are found in the tapatalk app.

Not sure how your device is setup but on mine, I have a tapatalk icon.
When I tap the icon, it opens the app and shows me a list of forums.
At the top of my screen, there are multiple icons I can click. One of the icons takes me to my account.

Once in your account, scroll down to settings. Once in settings, scroll down to font size. Tap on font size and you get the choices of small, normal, or large.
