I'm finally putting the forks back together. Do I replace piece #24 with the washers Race Tech supplies or does the upper RT washer stack on top of this piece?

You can use about any combination of washers. I like to use washers between the sleeves and springs as well as the upper cap. The most critical part is the total preload when you get it together. I usually shoot for 1"

Got it all back together today, it feels like the front end is taller, when I putr it on the side stand the first couple of times I got a pretty big pucker as it felt like it went further over than normal. I haven;t ridden it since early December,.

I changed the springs to Race Tech , and added emulators. I kept the old springs on the damper rods, that should keep it at stock height. Is there any way to measure for stock height?

Not sure how to get you a measurement. The stock upper springs may have collapsed allowing it to lower down.

It should be at stock height now. What I think you're seeing is no sag compared to the crappy stock progressive springs.

Some where on here a long time ago I was trying to verify if I was at stock heigth.....by asking other members for a measurement of the distance noted below...

The measurement from the top of your fork dust seals to the bottom edge of the triple clamp should be a good reference point. But only if your forks are clamped in the triples in the original postion where yamaha put them.....which mine are....

My riderless sag measurement is 7 5/8 inches, this is with the bike standing up straight "sagged" with no rider.

The total sag in front with rider weight is about 30% of the total available travel. My total travel is about 3 1/4 inches.....Observed by putting a tye-wrap around the fork and letting the dust seal push it up as high as it can after several days of riding and wheelies....

So with me on the bike the measurement is about 7 1/4" or so....

My front end is stiff tho' I'm running close to 1 3/4" inches of pre-load, I need to lower it a little but have been to busy...

I just got around to checking this, mine measures 8 3/16. Not sure what it was before but like I said earlier, it definitely feels taller.

Now for the 64k question: should I drop the forks to meet that 7 5/8's? Or should I tear the forks apart to figure out where I screwed up the assembly?
