I'm working on a set of frame sliders and would like to use the front engine mounts as a connection point. Currently there is a long rod that runs from side to side across the front of the engine. I'd like to replace that with individual bolts on each side. Does anyone know why they used a single long rod like that? I can't see the reason for that other than ease of assembly, but I'm sure there must be another reason.

I believe it is helping add chassis rigidity. The Venture uses one very long bolt with a spacer bar between the mounts. Might be able to use something like that?

The build was documented on facebook. Look for the Morleys Muscle page and then the photo albums for the various builds we have done (and are doing).
