Ok, I'm getting ready to replace the bearings, I'm driving the old ones out with a drift, and it seems I damaged this flange spacer that is between the bearing and the larger spacer, I have attached a pic, it's pc 3. I have a new one that I tapped over the larger spacer that sits between the wheel bearings.

I guess my question is , is this the correct installation.

After thinking about it I think that little spacer sits between the bearings to take up the room between the bearing-big spacer-little spacer-bearing, so that the big spacer doesn't move around.

Will it hurt anything if there is a little movement on the big spacer?

The idea of the spacers is to take the load between the bearings when tightening the front axle nuts. Mine were missing, and that killed the bearings.

The big spacer is there, the smaller spacer is like a spring washer , instead of allowing it(the smaller spacer) to float I tapped it onto the larger spacer, do you think this will cause any problems?

As long as the load is taken between the bearings centers when you tighten the axle nut, you should be ok. If the load isn't taken by the spacers, then it will be taken by the bearings themselves and they will get destroyed..

Ya, makes sense. Thanks nG
